S006 ARGON RADIATOR (III)

  • Argon Radiator (III) is a unique work that brings together industrial and organic forms through hand-made processes.

This tabletop sculpture is built on a base of aircraft aluminum, which supports a hand-thrown ceramic plate with an irregular, organic profile. The plate is glazed in cobalt and finished with a white crackle layer, producing a surface that both captures and reflects light from the tube.

The neon element, made from a single tube, sits within the ceramic form. The tube is hand-bent from two types of fused glass—clear and gold borosilicate—then pumped with argon, which produces a restrained lilac glow. The industrial language of the neon and aluminum contrasts with the organic profile ceramic.

Although the Radiator series includes multiple variants, this configuration is unique.
